Having an animal is a budget in its own right, so no question of wasting food! Often we buy the kibble in large quantities. Whether it is 2 kg or 20 kg sachets, the question remains the same: how to keep the croquettes well without damaging them? Here are some tips for storing them properly.
1. Storage time
If your bag is still closed, just rely on the expiration date indicated on the package. Most often unopened kibbles keep for several months . But if your bag is open, it is advisable to keep the kibble for a maximum of 1 month after the opening date.
After this date, it is not recommended to give them to your pet, they will no longer be as tasty. In the meantime, try to close the bags tightly to prevent air and moisture from entering them. Buy smaller bags next time!
2. A weekly box
Use a metal or plastic box in an amount equal to your pet’s need for a week. So you just have to fill it once a week while having the right dosage. If you have a large bag in stock, keep it away from heat and moisture .
Make sure the bag is airtight , as oxygen degrades the nutrients in the kibble. Calculate the rationing and needs of your animal carefully to avoid buying overly large bags of kibble.
3. Special bags for kibble
Go to the nearest pet store and ask for a bag to keep kibble . These bags have been specially designed for the conservation of kibble. Practical, it is possible to store up to 25 kg of kibble depending on the format. In addition to perfect preservation , the prices are very reasonable and within everyone’s reach.
4. The wheeled boxes
The wheeled boxes are easy to move, especially if you put a 20 kg bag of kibble in it! They are airtight and easy to find in pet stores. Very easy to clean , they come in all shapes and colors to suit your tastes. The only downside: their price. But when you love, you don’t count!
